T O P I C R E V I E WChildofVenusAre there any aspects in synastry/composite that make two people compatible? If so what are they?fiolaThere are so many ways synastry can play out, i wouldn't say that certain aspects make you more compatible, it's more like it shows you the dynamics of your interactions, how you work with it is the key here.Say having moon conjunct moon, your emotions are in sync, it's easy to relate to one another, but the down side is that you both have the same "flows". A moon trine venus suggests an easy going nature, the venus person welcomes the moon person's feelings. Moon trine pluto is all about intensity.. etcthingsgonebyIt's as fiola says, there are so many aspects that could speak for compatibility. I have Moon conjunct Mercury with my best friend, we understand where the other person is coming from, we usually have an easy time communicating about our feelings. Though we also have Moon square Moon, which Cafeastrology describes as "When one is up, the other may be down, or one of you is a night person while the other is an early bird. Timing can be tricky", which sometimes shows. But Moon conjunct Mercury is good for communication and understanding, which would make you compatible.I had Venus sextile Venus with a guy I dated for awhile, we were very in tune with each other romantically, our interaction was smooth and loving and our bodies was in sync, if you know what I mean, haha. It was sweet, as if we had been a couple for a long time even though we had just met, but not as in Sun square Pluto or Venus square Pluto where it's all about sexual chemistry, fireworks, fiery emotions, jealousy. Those aspects are more exciting than Venus sextile Venus for example.People often speak well of Sun/Moon contacts as well. But it depends on what compatibility you are seeking. Compatible for marriage? Compatible for sex? Compatible for communication? Compatible for everything? Because then it would be nice to have beneficial Mercury contacts, Moon contacts, Venus contacts, Sun contacts, Pluto contacts. There are just too many ways to view compatibility, and so many aspects that would speak for compatibility.yungang_grottoThere's a good article in The Mountain Astrologer issue on Synastry which came out this year... the author figures that "compatibility" isn't the thing synastry shows... they say that they know precious few people who are even compatible with themselves I can't paraphrase the reasoning word for word... But I liked it ChildofVenusI have Moon conjunct Mercury with someone in composite. But my Mercury also squares his Saturn but his Mercury sextiles mine. I believe he may have Moon square Venus in his own chart and Mercury square Saturn. What's the good thing about having Moon conjunct Mercury in composite? quote:Originally posted by thingsgoneby:It's as fiola says, there are so many aspects that could speak for compatibility. What's the good thing about having Moon conjunct Mercury in composite? I'm really no expert on either synastry or composites, since I'm just starting out, but I'd say it's pretty much the same thing. Good flow in communicating about emotions, emotional understanding. I have no personal experience of it (that I know of).Cafeastrology describes the Mercury/Moon conjunction in a composite chart as: quote:"You easily share personal information with each other, and probably delight in so doing. This is a chatty aspect that indicates much exchange, stimulation, and a mutual desire for variety and changes in the environment. Together, you like to keep busy, and if you share a home, the atmosphere is active and involved. You tend to be sensitive to each other’s feelings and moods, and turn to each other for easy conversation. You may delight in sharing memories with one another. The female in this relationship may be quite talkative, finding a wonderful outlet in her partner. As a couple, you are involved with each other and find it quite easy to solve problems in a rational and reasonable manner."I detest Saturn in all shapes and forms. But I'm biased since I'm going through a Saturn opposite Sun transit. People say Saturn are good for commitment, not the squares though, I'd assume. I'd rather not see it in synastry at all. Well, maybe I could tolerate like Saturn trine Mars or something like that. But I wouldn't want it aspecting my Sun, Moon, Venus or Mercury. Though that's just my shallow understanding of the planet.Maybe you should post your Synastry Chart so people could take a look at it? I wouldn't be able to contribute with much though, but maybe someone else would!ChildofVenusSome people say that having Saturn squares to someones personal planets doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. That it can bring stability etc. And that if you have the same aspects in your natal that you share with someone in synastry that the energy would be easier to handle. I don't know I guess people have different opinions about it. quote:Originally posted by thingsgoneby: I detest Saturn in all shapes and forms. I'm not the most knowledgable on astrology either, and I'm not very Saturnian myself, so I have a hard time dealing with Saturn's energy. If you have strong Saturn aspects in your natal chart and are comfortable with the strict and orderly Saturn characteristics it would probably be less detrimental. I'm very emotional and Saturn's energy just hurts me.ChildofVenusDo you have any Saturn aspects in your chart? quote:Originally posted by thingsgoneby: Yeah, definitely. I hate Saturn squares and oppositions in synastry!ChildofVenusSo you don't think two people can have a good relationship/friendship having Saturn squares and oppositions in synastry? I have the trine, which may be considered a little more "playful and light". I'm not sure the square necessarily have to be problematic either, I think it could be delightful if you were comfortable with it. After that I started to feel like something was missing. I'm still not sure what I mean by that. Saturn in my 4th house. Saturn parallels my Moon, Saturn conjuncts my Uranus. And last I have Saturn trine my AC. quote:Originally posted by CapriciousCapricorn: I mean that for someone who already has so many Saturn squares in their natal chart a relationship with heavy Saturn aspects in synastry is far from desirable.
